Aegis: /ˈiː.dʒɪs/ (EE-jis)

In Greek mythology, the term 'aegis' refers to the powerful shield or protective cloak associated with Zeus and Athena, symbolizing divine protection and authority.
At The Aegis Lab, we draw inspiration from this mythological concept to embody our commitment to safeguarding and nurturing your design vision. Our firm provides not only exceptional design services but also specialized private tutoring, ensuring that both your creative projects and personal growth are supported with the utmost care and expertise.
Just as The Aegis shielded and empowered the gods, we offer a protective and empowering environment for both your design needs and educational advancement.

about our founder & ceo

Nicole Javellana brings a wealth of niche hands-on experience from both high arts and contemporary spaces. She earned her BFA in Art and Technology Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, graduating as a distinguished Creative Honors Scholar. Javellana’s exceptional talent was highlighted when she was one of six graduates selected to represent the institution with a custom installation at the 2023 Undergraduate Spring Exhibition. Her thesis work uniquely blends new media, creative technology, programming, and mixed reality projects, aiming to revitalize and enrich the contemporary Filipino cultural tapestry through innovative digital arts and solutions.
During her time at the Art Institute, Javellana gained significant experience as a VJ, working on real-time VFX and 3D content for major electronic dance music artists at renowned events such as Heatwave Music Festival and House of Blues. Her extensive portfolio in the electronic music industry reflects her expertise in live audiovisual performances and creative technology. Upon returning to Los Angeles County, Javellana transitioned into a technical 3D designer role with an electronic vehicle manufacturer. However, recognizing a misalignment with her career aspirations, she pivoted to pursue her true passion for education and the arts. Javellana began teaching Digital Arts, including 3D modeling and Digital Illustration, at the Palos Verdes Art Center and South Bay Art Department. Balancing her roles as an educator by day and a VJ and freelance creative by night, she cultivated a growing network of private tutoring clients and creative collaborations.
Inspired to merge her specialized education services and design work, Javellana founded The Aegis Lab. Today, she leads the firm with a focus on private tutoring and creative direction. As the Art Director for Vicar Venetia, a luxury holistic skincare company, and Creative Director for artist and musician MOON, Javellana continues to push boundaries in both her creative and educational endeavors. She also maintains her role as a VJ, creating dynamic concert visuals and exhibiting her personal artwork across LA and Chicago.
